A pinheader is a basic connector to plug things on your PCB without having them soldered.

It can be **single or dual row** (SIL-DIL). 

The usual pitch, aka the distance between 2 pins is **__2,54mm__**.
A pin header is designed to be splitted that you can have only the number of pins required to solder.
